If you’re a frequent visitor of the Golden Nugget Lake Charles, you know that it is the south’s mini Las Vegas. They have a variety of restaurants, resort style pool, a casino, and even a small beach area. We have had weekend getaways to Lake Charles so many times in the past- birthdays, anniversaries, or just for fun! The Golden Nugget is definitely my favorite resort in Lake Charles and it does not disappoint. We spent the mornings at the pool, the evenings at the restaurants, and late night at the casino or the sports bar. The best part? Being a few steps away from your hotel room!
Where to dine:
The Golden Nugget has so many restaurants to choose from and its so hard to have each one in one weekend so here are my top 3 favorites!
Chart House- This was our first time trying this spot and it is now our favorite restaurant at the Golden Nugget LC! To get there you have to walk through the pool area, past the tennis courts and towards the golf course. The restaurant is situated overlooking the gold course which makes for a beautiful scene for lunch or dinner. They have great food and a vast wine selection.
Bill’s Bar & Burger- Located on the beach! It’s great for a quick bite and they also serve food at the pool.
Lillie’s Asian Cuisine- I have eaten here a couple of times and it has been delicious. I usually get fried rice or a chicken dish. They get incredibly busy so a reservation is a must and also great for late night take out.
Entertainment:
DraftKings Sportsbook Bar & Grill- They have recently added the sportsbook and it’s probably one of my favorite spots to hang out at before dinner or to watch a game. They have TVs everywhere, cozy booths, and the BEST nachos.
Blue Martini- A mini Vegas style nightclub! Their DJs and bands are great and know how to keep the crowd having a good time.
Rush Lounge- Located in the middle of the casino. This is my favorite nightlife spot, it is more laid back than the Blue Martini and they always have a band playing. It’s never a good trip without making a stop there.
H2O Pool + Bar- The pool is so fun and the music is great. They also have a lazy river to float. If you are not reserving a cabana or a bed, it’s best to get there early to claim a lounge chair- they get filled up quick.
Ice Bar- A cute all white crystal bar close to reception. This spot is best for grabbing a quick after dinner on the way to the casino or live music show.
Casino- If you like to gamble, their casino has everything you find in Vegas- slot machines, table games, and a poker room.
